A hugely special show for Wyoming Out Loud was finally getting King Gampo himself ‘PROF‘ to make a stop in Wyoming before he outgrew his britches. Trust we’ve been watching him fill them and larger and larger venues up all across the nation for years. Big things come from years of hard work and finally getting to bring the mutual art of a couple dudes named Jacob to y’all is a darned treat.
After Willie Wonka got the energy rolling Denver’s own AP took the stage and filled The Lincoln with something we don’t get enough of around here in my opinion, hip-hop fans.
Every fanbase is filled with it’s own characters, personas, and community and hip-hop/rap is often not properly represented in Wyoming’s ecosystem. When someone on the trajectory that PROF is on comes through your town it’s impossible not to feel the ripple of the energy. Home of the Honky Tonk or not Wyoming showed up big for Pookie and made it feel completely like a PROF show.
GRIP from Atlanta, GA took the stage next getting everyone fully funky and ready for the show that was on our hands. The crowd control one person is capable when confidently delivering their music is captivating. Vibes were on the way, way way up!
PROF’s Gallery Tour drink specials were flowing and the crowd was whipped into a froth, the incredible layout and ambiance of The Lincoln were being imbibed as naturally as a cold Coors on a Friday night or something Wyoming folk would understand..
PROF and Willie Wonka took the stage and the performance, stage presence and energy were as pandemonium as expected. Even knowing that I was there to photograph my current number one artist I couldn’t help but sing the songs, let my feet do their thing and feel the moment, it was too much damn fun.
An incredibly special night for Wyoming, Wyoming Out Loud, and hopefully everyone in the crowd. It certainly wasn’t lost on me. Can’t wait until next time. Can’t wait to get down to The Lincoln for more shows!
