For the last few years Oil City Beer Company has been host to what has become one of the most exciting shows of the year for the people of Casper. The 8th Annual Brandon’s Birthday Bash, held in honor of Teenage Bottlerocket’s late drummer Brandon Carlisle. This go ’round was the first sold out event for Oil City Beer Co. bringing ‘Authority Zero’ along for the party to set off Wyoming’s own Punk Rock productions of Shocktroopers and System Restore.

One of the best parts of a show at Oil City Beer Co. is the family friendly nature of the place, bring your kids up front for their first punk show or sit back and enjoy a root beer, the whole place even on a sellout night accommodated the needs of the masses.

As the night rolled on and the sellout crowd filled the brewery, the floor filled and the capitol of Punk Rock in Wyoming got moving. This was a dual photo outing and party night, one of my favorite nights of the year and when you bring Authority Zero into the mix, it was bound to be a good time.

For a Thursday night the commitment the crowd had to the show was admirable, I was running on fumes and sore in places I forgot about in the 90s for work on Friday, but accomplished, this show is big for Wyoming Out Loud, and most people involved and our community as a whole. To see it sold out, to see the people go hard on a work night, to see it all happen at such a great home for Punks, well, I can’t wait for the next celebration, and the meaning certainly isn’t lost on me.

Until next time, somehow, bigger and better. Much Love and Many Thanks for everyone who came out and made the event such a RAD time!
