A little over two years ago the incredible rhythm and rhyme duo ‘Atmosphere’ made a stop off at The Gaslight Social that was just as energetic as the skies were that night and the performance was cut short. It’s taken a couple years to find the right opportunity to come back to WYO, this time some place indoors was an obvious choice. We might not have expected to end up with an incredibly intimate, tight quarters affair when the show was booked at The Ford Wyoming Center. The Summit Room could have been looked at as a downgrade but in many ways was a one way ticket to a mass VIP party with Ant, Slug, and the incredible list of cohorts along with them for this tour. We certainly don’t mind when tour kicks off in Casper and some experiments are performed for us.
The show pops off with the powerfully beautiful ‘Reverie‘, a L.A. based rapper with all of the spice and soul to keep the stage and crowd warm and rowdy. Non-stop wordplay and expression. The colorful stories perfectly accentuated by the bright green hair and nails. Vibes, SET.
Although the vibes were on the way, way way, up, there’s no preparing yourself for the full stage assault that is ‘NO FUN!‘ This mighty presence is made up of incredibly talented energetic souls from all around the world. Each bringing to the stage their own musical styles and melding it together and hyping each other up into something that is inspirational to the human condition. Seeing it all packed onto a stage that was cobbled together for a Wednesday night Wyoming hip-hip show, was cooperation to the max, these folks jam!
Our headliner and one which we at Wyoming Out Loud feel deserves to have blown out the whole arena floor downstairs the unstoppable twosome ‘Atmosphere‘ took to one of the tightest stages they’ve played in who knows how long and showed no signs of tryin’ to keep the barn’s roof attached.
We’ve been waiting for this show since before we knew there would be a return. We just took Slug at his word as the electric skies took over two years ago, they’d be back. This time we’d be ready, the final cog for Wyoming Out Loud clicked that night and two years of providing all the proof possible that Wyoming does in fact get LOUD, Get DOWN, and certainly knows how to MAKE PARTY! It all came back around and we had a heck of a hump day in fair Caspertown!
So next time Slug and Ant stop through lets sell out the arena for ’em, this show was special. Lets hope it was the tight knit, love charged energy boost they need. Slug said he wants to build a community with the people at their shows, I think we know a little something about that around here.
