We’ve said it before and we’ll probably, for better or worse say it again. You NEVER know what you’re getting into when you venture out to a mid-week show in Wyoming. A Wednesday night with Andy Frasco at The Gaslight Social was just the right amount of unpredictable that treated the three rows of rowdy fans to one of the most exciting nights in recent memory. We would have loved to have seen the room packed, heck, we hoped this one was going to be outside and ROCKIN’ with enough room for Andy’s piano to really SHINE. The passionate folks that came from all over Wyoming and the Dakotas to see Andy Frasco & The U.N. were blessed with an intimate show full of great vibes, group hugs and an incredible bar wide conga line that’s not soon to be repeated. Love will make you do crazy things, and we all came out of this show a LOT better friends.
Wednesday night’s show was opened up by another great Colorado band, Taylor Scott Band has been jamming the rocky mountains and beyond for more than a decade! They brought an incredibly polished and soulful set to the stage. Letting us all know the motivation and heart behind the show. Andy Frasco is known for the high energy live shows but the message of appreciation and togetherness was echoed by both bands all night. With a lot of the small crowd coming in from other places it was an incredible night of sewing the seeds of new friendship.
When Andy Frasco & The U.N. took the stage the small but mighty crowd went WILD. These guys’ fans are PASSIONATE, I’m one of them so I felt the energy in the room kick up 3-17 notches. It might have been the liquor greasing the gears but all of the sudden, Life was Easy. There’s nothing touring America now or for a long time like an Andy Frasco show. Any attempt to bring the energy down is impossible even if Andy slows the show down with a sad song. We waited on every moment and were treated to one of the most intimate and FUN shows we’ve ever been to. We sure hope they’ll all come back and treat this place like home again sooner than later!
